I banned Wal-mart for numerous reasons and switched to target. I find this info above very upsetting. I boycotted united way when they banned the boy scouts stance on homosexuality. Do you have any more information on this ban by Target? Soon I'll be doing all my shopping at 7-11
it's been a few years since i found out, but i'll find the info and PM you.

Target Is Not Foreign-Owned
Target is a publicly held U.S. company (NYSE: TGT) and has been based in Minneapolis, Minn. since its founding as The Dayton Company in 1902. Target is not now, nor has it ever been, foreign-owned.

Giving Policy
Target gives to diverse causes that reflect all types of guests in a variety of communities. While every cause is worthy, Target receives thousands of grant requests every year and unfortunately, we are unable to grant funds or partner with every organization. For more information or to apply for a grant, please visit http://www.target.com/community.

Marines Toys for Tots
Target greatly respects the Toys for Tots program and the volunteers who make it a success. However, our longstanding policy of no-solicitation prohibits the use of our store locations as collection or drop-off sites for any type of activity. For more information please visit http://www.target.com/solicitation.

I don't remember all of the exact wording, but I do remember that it says guns are prohibited unless you possess a concealed handgun license. I'm thinking that whoever went to the trouble to specify that CHL's are okay is probably friendly to them. It's the only Target I've seen that has a sign like this, though.
Target won't allow Veterans groups/ Boy scouts/ Gril Scouts/ Military/ or any association linked to such to use their parking lot for fund raisers of any kind... and not just standing at the door asking for money etc... They have a store policy which specifically stops certain groups and not all.. i no longer shop there.

I've seen several "small shops" that have a CHL holders welcome signs...

there's a print shop in Wichita Falls
there's a small time oil change place that was in Ft. Worth (not sure if it's still open, it was on white settlement rd.)

I'm sure there are more... haven't seen any in Mesquite yet, but if i see one i'll let everyone know.
