Interesting.
Being from a different state does not mean we give up the right to free speech or give up our 4th amendment rights.

Re: Supreme Court strikes down NY gun law
So, what does this do in terms of Texans carrying in places like New York? They confirmed that the 2nd amendment covers carrying outside the home for self defense (among other reasons). I think reasonable people would agree that self defense and the second amendment do not stop when crossing state l...

Re: 30.06 Ruling Letters
In light of the Pasadena Letter, should we say something about SAXET posting 30.06/.07 signs at a gun show at the Ranch Park Event Center (owned by the City of Dripping Springs) the past weekend? Unfortunately I did not get a picture of it. To be frank, I'm on the fence about this. I think it may be...

If your employer is HEB, for example, and you put the corporate address, how would DPS know that you worked in Hays County (for example)?TangoX-ray wrote:DPS is probably looking at where (geographic location) you worked to make sure they ran you through all of the applicable databases in those counties too.

Before sending it in, I scanned my DD-214 and deleted/erased the block that held my Social Security number. I was in about the same time as you, and at that time the military used SSAN for serial numbers. I recommend you do the same, or at least just make a copy and white out the SSAN block for per...

Sec. 9.04. THREATS AS JUSTIFIABLE FORCE. The threat of force is justified when the use of force is justified by this chapter. For purposes of this section, a threat to cause death or serious bodily injury by the production of a weapon or otherwise, as long as the actor's purpose is limited to creati...

Re: 2nd amend becoming meaningless
Similar to what ScottDLS wrote, is "private property" owned by a publicly traded company really "private"? The same goes with regard to any company/store that does business with the public. With regard to MY private property, my home, I can legally exclude or discriminate agains...

this was on the DPS website: 34. I tried to buy a gun in preparation for going to take my concealed handgun course so that I could get my concealed handgun license, but my purchase was denied. I contacted FBI/NICS to find out why I was denied. I even appealed their ruling but was still found to be d...

Re: 2nd amend becoming meaningless
Folks, this is not a difficult concept to understand. Do you own part of the business? Do you pay their bills or payroll? No? Then you don't get a say in how they run their business. It's still private property and if they don't want us carrying on their property then they can say no. Shop somewher...

Does carry via MPA exempt you from the federal gun free zone stuff? Just curious.ScottDLS wrote:I would only carry concealed in my car if the parking lot was posted, because then I wouldn't be violating 30.06, since I would not be carrying under the authority of my LTC.

Re: 30.06 and 30.07 signs at gas stations
This is all very very interesting to me. Thank you for putting up with me while I threw stuff against the wall to see what would stick. With that said, most gas stations have pay at the pump, right? Which means you might not ever go inside the store. Because .06 only has to be in a conspicuous place...

Re: 30.06 and 30.07 signs at gas stations
It does no fit because public property is not private. We are part owners of public property, so restricting its use by us is legislated differently. Where in .06/.07 does it distinguish a difference in public vs private? 46.035 does not use the term property anywhere and .06/07 uses the word prope...
