What Crisis ?
Gangs in Houston aren't anything new. Seems to me that as bad as the gang thing is, its not quite as bad as it was in Houston 10 years ago. Seems to me that at least for a while they were killing each other off faster than they could replicate. Then again I admit I might be a little numb about the gang violence thing and just not have noticed if it got worse.
It was really dangerous about 6 months after Katrina. The murder rate in Houston jumped 300% that year.

Precisely!!!! "What Crisis???" This crisis doesn't exist and the liberals need to create it. That is my point. With liberals, everything is a crisis. The president's chief of staff is quoted as saying something along the lines of "Never let a "crisis" pass without taking advantage to promote an agenda"... It doesn't matter if the crisis is real. If the libs declare a crisis, then the compliant media will trumptet it. What do they know in Spokane and Indiannapolis?? The media is shouting that Houston is the wild west and we have to get rid of the guns or everyone is going to die, tomorrow!!!!!!!!! Next thing you know, the brady bunch has hopped on and we get some midnight bill that no one reads because it's such an emergency, and viola, we're all stuck with 4' long single shot .410 guage shotguns and flintlocks. No pistols.

I agree. The answer is to arm as many law abiding people as possible but when does sense have anything to do with what goes on in Washington?

Lets hope attrition and law enforcement get it under control...

I don't believe there would be too many connections to this activity and major shopping outlets...Remember assasinations are targeted affairs, malls have too many in's and out's and are hard to cover with limited resources...Restaurants are better because of limited entrances and exits, people are less mobile (than at a mall) and its easier to setup...

Just my opinion...
You're probably correct. Assasinations aren't really in my line. :tiphat:

My point is that something splashy and Mexican drug related will happen and what ever it is will be the catalyst for the current president to start beating the gun ban drums.

Unfortunately, this will probably be the "crisis" that mr. Fabulous uses to push through his gun bans. There will be some future major shootout at Willowbrook or, God help us, the Galleria and that will be that.
