PRICE REDUCED - WTS Springfield XDm .45 cal 5.25"
For sale or will trade for same model pistol in 9mm. The pistol is a couple years old. I only shoot it a once every month or so at IDPA or USPSA matches and I've had it for a couple years. Not sure how many rounds it has. Probably 6000 or so. I keep it clean. No issues. I just prefer the less expens...

Private Universities Opting Out
I'm reading how there is a provision for private universities to Opt Out of the campus carry law. I've read through the bill several times and I only see where the university admins have to come up with a plan and justification for barring concealed firearms in certain areas and to establish rules f...

Re: What firearm do you want to get next?
A while back, I purchased an XDm in .45 as my "game" gun. With my tired eyes and the fiber front sight, I'm very accurate with it when compared to other pistols I have. I'm thinking I want to sell it to get the same thing in 9mm for ammo savings. Then I want to get the XDm with the 3.8&quo...

Re: Wanted: Flashlight - Big, Rechargeable, Hi/Lo/Strobe
Not sure if you're still looking but I purchased one of each. http://www.lapolicegear.com/lapg-operator-l1-flashlight.html http://www.lapolicegear.com/lapg-operator-l2-flashlight.html The 800 lumen (L1) model is so bright it hurts. I have to make sure I have it pointed up into the air when I turn it...

Shiloh Tactical Shooters and Bayou City Practical Shooters
Thursdays are IDPA/USPSA night at Shiloh Shooting Range. Hammer down is as close to 6:30 as we can make it. As of now, most Thursdays are IDPA legal stages. If a month has 5 Thursdays, then the last one (such as tonight) is USPSA. New shooters are welcome. The Shiloh gun range is located at 12703 Sh...

Re: Your thoughts?
My only advice would be to consider having your knees bent, feet shoulder width apart, and parallel with the target. You've got your feet positioned left foot forward in all your scenarios. Having your feet parallel with knees always bent a bit makes moving in any direction easier and quicker. It's ...

Re: Instructors; Failing students
I do "fail" students and warn the students that it could happen and probably will happen if they are not able to operate their pistol. I don't hand hold. I don't load the mag or show them which end goes to the front. If I don't see enough holes on the paper, if they can't load their own gu...

Re: 3rd dui is a felony?
Your friend also may be considered chemically dependent because he was busted three time for an alcohol related crime. But I agree with the previous statements about repeat DUIs not having a CHL. It's all we need for him to be drunk and carrying and then get into a shooting. I guarantee all the stuf...

Re: Gun Belt help (amazon)
After buying a legit gun belt, I'll never go back, even when not carrying... All my belts are gun belts and have been for a long time. Of course, it's a rare day when there's not a pistol hanging off of it. :patriot: :txflag: :patriot: :txflag: :patriot: :txflag: :patriot: :txflag: :patriot: :txfla...

Re: Howard Leight Electronic Muffs - NRR30
I don't know anything about any of them, except I will not buy first ones you listed. They are made in China. The other two are reported as made in Sweden and the USA. :thumbs2: Well, duh... Of course they are made in China. It's really too bad that good and affordable electronic gear isn't made he...

Howard Leight Electronic Muffs - NRR30

Re: cold weather shooting
Houston, by definition, doesn't get cold like other places in Texas but we have our cold days. I purchased these http://www.blackhawk.com/product/Cool-Weather-Shooting-Gloves,1058,1361.htm mainly for hunting. They definately aren't the warmest things. They actually aren't very warm at all but for an...
