Re: CHL carry friendly workplace list?
I would love to work on changing the rules. We've had several informal discussions about gun carry during off hours while a few of the managers were around. We were able to disagree with each other respectfully. But as the new guy in a company with sites in several continents my voice will not have ...

CHL carry friendly workplace list?
I'm working at a place that I like and do not want to leave for at least a little while, however it's a little upsetting that the company policy strictly forbids guns inside the building and even explicitly mentions concealed carry, although 80% of the people that I work around think as I do. It got...

I'm going to try to remember to wear mine when I go to Texas State Monday and Wednesday.

Re: Are these legal car holsters for CHL carry?
Thanks for the opinion, Mike. If it's questionable to anyone here I'm sure it would be questionable to a police officer. I should be able to place it inboard on my car, but I like your idea of under the steering column so I'm going to take a look at my car to see if that's feasible.

Are these legal car holsters for CHL carry?
I know that a pistol is supposed to be concealed if you've got it with you in your vehicle. Would you say that something like these that go to the side of the seat would be considered concealed? http://www.securityprousa.com/vesehocarseh.html I'm guessing probably not on this one though: http://www....

Re: IWB without a belt?
Thanks, but they are similar to the SmartCarry. I tried the SmartCarry and it was comfortable and worked well, but there are certain parts of my anatomy that have a tendency to work their way directly in front of the barrel. I know that the gun is not going off without a finger in the trigger but Mu...

Re: IWB without a belt?
Thanks y'all. The belly band looks like it rides a little too high. I guess I should first try and find a talon clip holster that fits my Ruger SR9.

IWB without a belt?
Any inside the waistband rigs that you've used comfortably that do not require one to wear a belt? I'm just looking for something that sits in a position that would make me less nervous than where the SmartCarry points....

Thanks!
Just to be a data point for the processing time, I wanna post that I recieved my plastic today :D
That makes roughly 2.5 months, but that includes them delaying my application due to not signing one of the photos. Wow they're picky!

Re: Rifle/Shotgun carry in car - Plain view or concealed?
You can carry legally long guns any way you like it Texas. Obviously they would be a theft target if left exposed in a parked vehicle, but it wouldn't be illegal. All "no guns" signs apply to long guns. Going into a place that's posted that way could be prosecuted as criminal trespass. It...

Rifle/Shotgun carry in car - Plain view or concealed?
A quick Google search doesn't reveal much on this and I've heard a couple of different stories. When transporting a rifle or shotgun in ones car, is it allowed to be concealed or must it be in plain view? If it must be in plain view, that seems exactly opposite of the handgun rules, which makes no s...

State Trooper Contact
Have not received my plastic yet, so I was under the newly improved "travelling" laws. Pulled over by DPS trooper between Lampasas and Goldthwaite doing 84 in a 65, so I did get a ticket this time. Officer: Do you have a pistol in that lock box? (I have a Gunvault that I keep beside my bed...

I have had a few hand-to-hand situations wherein OC was utilized. I have to date prevailed, but... I have seen it used where the BG was drugged (PCP) and it had little effect. It was used by a small female LEO and it was my partner and myself that actually ended up in the fight. The OC did not slow...

Thanks for posting this. Hopefully the laws will become clear after reading them a few times. Making sense of vague legal text makes me crazy since I'm used to Mathematics(beginning Master's in it this Spring) where everything is rigorously defined and pinned down. You would never hear x is an integ...
