+1 What a perfect analogy!cbr600 wrote:Suppose someone asks for advice on losing weight. Many people would suggest consuming fewer calories, getting more exercise, or both.mr.72 wrote:You mean, the only limits are the CLOTHES IN MY CLOSETSo far the only limits I see are the ones you are placing on yourself.

You know this is the single most irritating thing about many gun-carrying folks. It's the overt opinion that once you decide to carry concealed, then every other part of your life needs to be re-oriented around it, otherwise you are being unreasonable. C'mon people, I know some of you are really interested in helping but I asked specifically for information about making something with within my totally normal and reasonable situation.
Suppose they reply they're not willing to change their diet and they're very busy and don't have time to exercise. Then they complain that people have this overt opinion that once you decide to get in shape, then every other part of your life needs to be re-oriented around it, otherwise you are being unreasonable.
At that point people could spend more time trying to explain how to fit exercise into a busy schedule, and how to make small dietary changes that have a large impact, but I don't think they would be addressing the real issue.

Re: Concealed Carry Full Size Pistol
In addition to the Beretta M9 that I carry (see my above post for pics), I also carry my XD 45 Service model and Glock 22 (.40 service model) on a regular basis. I'm living proof that tall, thin folks can and do comfortably carry large framed semi-autos in a concealed fashion without wearing extremely baggy or oversized clothing!NcongruNt wrote:... but other people have reported carrying service model XDs in them, and Glocks aren't all that dissimilar in dimension.

Re: Concealed Carry Full Size Pistol
I am 6' 2", have a 33" waist, weigh 170 lbs., and here's my IWB setup with my Beretta M9:mr.72 wrote:No offense, but I am noticing that many of these pictures of you guys effectively carrying a mid-size or a full-size pistol concealed involve two very key ingredients:
1. person carrying is significantly overweight
2. the cover garment is very noticeably oversized
So the question is, can someone who is not overweight and does not wear oversized clothing carry a G19 size pistol?

Re: Concealed Carry Full Size Pistol
I can also comfortably carry my large-framed Beretta M9, Glock 22, or SA XD 45 IWB. (Via my Comp Tac Minotaur IWB holsters). The key for me is a good Kydex-lined leather belt (which I also purchased from Comp Tac) and a spare magazine or two on the opposite side to help offset the weight of the gun. Other than that, I concur that loose-fitting jeans (or shorts) and button-down shirts are essential in keeping the weapon concealed...
