Re: QUICK ACCESS BUT SAFE GUN STORAGE BOX
I have one of the GunVaults bolted to my night stand. I open it every night before turning out the light and have never had it fail to open. I've been using it for about 14 months and I'm still on the first set of batteries. I would highly recommend the product.

Re: Sportsman Warehouse Round Rock
I bought a couple of Glocks at the Lewisville store before it closed -- I never understood why they didn't advertise, and that seemed to me to maybe be part of the reason they closed. I would never have heard of the store if I hadn't read about it in an online forum...

Re: Strange "advice" at a gun store
Yes, the guy behind the counter is a maroon (in the words of Bugs Bunny). He must be the owner's nephew... I had a guy behind the counter at a local Academy Sports a couple of weeks ago who was showing me the three Para 1911s they had -- he racked back the slide on one and then didn't know how to re...

Re: Ammo Shortage?
The Wal-Mart in North Dallas (near Dallas Parkway and Arapaho) had quite a few boxes of WWB .45 and 9mm in stock. I didn't really look to see what else they had...

Re: ...about Glocks???
i own three handguns and none of them have a manual safety. I have a Glock 19, a Glock 22, and a Smith & Wesson 642. On all three pistols, I just pull the trigger and the gun goes "bang." I would get flamed by some for saying this, but I do not keep a round chambered in either Glock --...

Re: Car Gun Safe?
Another vote for the Center of Mass safes. I have the smaller model, which holds a Glock 19 and an extra mag.

Re: Concealed Weapon in Vehicle (No CHL Yet)
I keep a Glock 19 with extra mag inside an old daytimer book with a zipper closure. I can put it on the seat or floor beside me and it's within easy reach if needed. I keep the zipper partially open so I can get my hand inside quickly. I can also carry it in and out without drawing any attention. I ...

Private sale of handgun?
I have a Glock 19 I want to sell, but I'm not sure what kind of paperwork I need to do for the sale. Is just having a homemade receipt with the serial number and names/addresses/signatures for me and the buyer enough to cover any legal technicalities?

Re: Is a Glock 19 For ME???
The Glock 19 was my first gun of any kind and I still have it. It's now my "car gun." I also have a Glock 22 that sits in a Gun Vault by my bed. The G19 is a good, solid weapon and will never let you down. I recently bought a Bianchi holster for it and, when I get my CHL eventually, it wil...

Re: The Kingdom
I agree that it's a good movie and the big chase/shooting scene is one of most absorbing actions scenes in several years. If you rent it on DVD, watch the bonus features -- they show the shooting scene from the perspectives of the four major characters and then show the technical side of how they sh...

I have two of the Surefire weapons lights -- an X300A on my Glock 22 and a 618FA forend for my Remington 870 shotgun. The X300A is incredibly bright and very compact. I recently purchased a Streamlight Twin Task flashlight, which I mainly use for my early morning dogwalks. I keep it next to the bed ...

Range bag, hearing protection, and eye protection recs?
I have a gift card to a local store that sells shooting gear and was thinking of putting together a range bag. Any recs on what you have for a range bag and what you keep in it? I'm also not sure what to look for in ear and eye protection -- any suggestions? I'm fairly new to shooting, so I'm not su...
