I just wanted to take a moment of your time and offer you my support. I believe that you are a man of vision and have taken a great step in protecting your students. I believe firmly in the 2nd amendment and an INDIVIDUALS right to carry a firearm. I commend you sir in your decision to allow your staff to do so on campus. I understand the difficulty you had in making this decision, and respect the fact that you made a decision that may not be accepted by some of the parents in your district. Still you made a choice based on what you believe. Well Done! I am a CHL holder myself, but even if I were not, I would commend you on this choice. Believe me when I tell you that there are many that respect and support your decisions. I am a member of the Texas CHL forum and we are having a lengthy discussion about this. I wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how much I appreciate your email and encouragement. It has meant a lot to have so many concerned citizens from across Texas and America contact me to let me know that we’re heading in the right direction. Obviously, I knew within my heart (and mind) that Harrold ISD was making the right decision, but it always helps to know that one small school district in Texas is not alone in its fight. I’ve been pretty busy with the media coverage, but I believe that it may be slowing down a bit. I have also come to believe the fight is just beginning. I want to encourage you to continue to contact your legislators so that laws will be enacted to ensure that every American will be able to practice his or her 2nd Amendment rights. By the way, thanks for the link. I was encouraged by the messages.
