Apparently they are not native to the area and have few natural predators...My understanding is that the passenger pigeon was done in more by the destruction of their habitat than the heavy hunting...on the other hand there were a lot of buffalo in the West at one time.AlgoaAggie91 wrote:Isn't that how we lost the passenger pigeon? You guys should try it in Argentina. High volume dove hunting. The only limit is how sore your shoulder gets after shooting 1000 rds. Rent a gun from the guides, otherwise prepare to ruin your shotgun. They donate the ones you don't eat to the locals and the farmers are happy to thin the population because they screw up the crops.
