Re: BOI? For class iii gun trusts?

So this brings up a question that I have since the changes to the NFA CLEO sign off requirements in 2016. The trusts and corporations and LLCs previously often used as a workaround in a jurisdiction, where (unconstitutionally in my view) the CLEO would not sign the registration forms for NFA items. ...

A reporting company created or registered to do business before January 1, 2024, will have until January 1, 2025, to file its initial BOI report.
My understanding this is about companies that do business, not gun trusts.
It may depend on the value of the assets in the trust.

Re: Inadvertent gun in carry-on bag by LTC holder

The criminal penalties were removed at the State level in Texas a few years back, which is likely why he didn't get arrested. There actually are no federal criminal statutes that apply. So they gave him a civil penalty of $5K. I would pay it and be happy to not have a criminal conviction. Oh, he pa...

Re: Inadvertent gun in carry-on bag by LTC holder

Hello all, A friend of mine has an LTC and mistakenly had his carry weapon in his carry-on bag several months ago. The TSA at DFW discovered it at the airport. They required that he return the gun to his car and immediately rescinded his pre-check status for 5 years. Now, today, several months late...

Re: Unlicensed possession on these premises... Sign

Outside of TABC rules, 30.05 is the required sign to prohibit unlicensed carry, so, those TABC signs would still not be useful other than as window dressing. I'd like for the Legislature to clean this up next session. The wording of 30.05 is different from that used in 30.06/30.07. 30.06/.07 requir...

Would love to see all Prohibited Places removed. It doesn’t hurt to hope. They'll get right on that after they fix the State Fair and Dallas Zoo issues... :yawn Whatever you do please do not having any positive attitude on anything. The history of changes to the law starting with permitless handgun...

Re: Comal County Fair and Rodeo Weapons Policy

And the entire Fair is not a 51% alcohol venue. We have had this discussion before and it is possible the entire fair grounds are a 51% venue. The problem is that TABC will issue one license for the address and the entire address is covered by the license. If the contracted beer vendor, for example...

Re: Comal County Fair and Rodeo Weapons Policy

I talked to couple of sheriff deputies once I got thru the gate at the rodeo arena. They said because there is an amusement park that would be considered off limits for concealed carry holders. Besides, there is a 51% sign per the officers. No metal detectors. No reasons why one couldn't carry a po...

Re: Comal County Fair and Rodeo Weapons Policy

Unless they have metal detectors, I would just carry concealed. 30.0x statutes don't apply to county property. And the entire Fair is not a 51% alcohol venue. If they want to exclude carry in violation of state law like the State Fair of Texas, they need to hire private security to check for 'weapo...
