With the holster at 11 o'clock it provides an easy, unobstructed cross draw that eliminates most common sweep problems. Moving the holster to the right at 3 0'clock provides me a comfortable and easily concealed everyday carry.

Dadtodabone,

Thanks for the info-- I'll check it out.

And where is the driver sitting? :biggrinjester:
Sorry, passenger seat.....the gun that is.
And if you hit the brakes hard, go around a sharp corner a little too fast, or get hit by another car? Where does the gun wind up?

Re: Best Carry Position While Driving

I note that some of the replies seem to advocate putting the weapon somewhere in the car where it is neither concealed nor carried openly, e.g. on the front of the driver's seat. In Texas, as far as I know, if one is carrying concealed, then the gun must be concealed, even in a car. If one is carrying openly, then the gun must be in a belt holster or shoulder holster.

If I'm wrong about this, please correct me.

Best Carry Position While Driving

I've tried both AIW and Cross-Draw IW while driving. I'm right-handed and when carrying AIW I have to be very careful that the butt of the gun doesn't get tangled up in the shoulder belt. When carrying cross-draw it's less likely to get caught in the belt, but I have to move my gun hand farther to draw.

What are your thoughts on this?
