It's that they are finding weapons vs confiscating weapons. Finding, collecting and returning immediately seems prudent. Confiscating from people, no, finding in debris, yes. Last week I hear the opposite on NRANews, namely, that if police found weapons while searching for survivors, they took them for safe-keeping and made arrangements to return them immediately.
I don't see any problem with this.
