Yes, it's always best to be polite and cooperative in those situations. Be polite, cooperative and be done with it.

However, you have as much legal right to ask a security guard to see his state issued license as he does to ask to see your LTC....none.
Unless, of course, if said "security guard" is an off duty police officer in uniform, or shows his law enforcement credentials if in a guard uniform.
