Just remember: There's no such thing as "Child Proof".

Studies have shown that adults have a harder time getting into "child proof" medicine bottles than children do. Kids are amazingly ingenious because they don't know that they're supposed to have limitations. The were born thinking outside the box. They also have tiny little hands and fingers that are surprisingly strong and can fit into little holes and areas our fat fingers can't.

Obviously, you want your firearms locked away. This rule, however, also applies to your medicines, cleaners, poisons, fertilizers and anything else they can get into. Kids will put anything and everything in their mouths.

As as an earlier post mentioned, they'll pull things over on them. Secure your plasma TVs and bookcases to the walls. And by "secure", I mean drive a couple of 3 inch screws into studs or use the jumbo size butterfly toggle bolts. Double-sided tape or little one-inch screws with plastic drywall anchors won't cut it with a freakishly strong toddler.

Most accidents are preventable if we just use a little common sense. Glad your little incident turned out ok. My daughter is 16 and she still hasn't stopped scaring the crap out of me!
