Re: Medical Facilities
One of my doctor offices is in a medical building which was posted 30.06 until a few years ago when the 30.06 sign was removed. So I carried concealed in that office and building ever since. However, when I went there for an appointment in May, the office had posted 30.06, 30.07, and 30.05. None of...

Re: OK what is a 46.03 sign?
I was at the Lincoln dealer in Marble Falls yesterday and was surprised to see a 46.03 sign. Previously the dealership had no 30.06, 30.07, or 30.05. Naturally I walked past the 46.03 sign with my concealed handgun. A car dealership obviously is not a prohibited location. Posting it at the dealershi...

Midway Guns & Ammo Llano
Nice indoor 4 lane 15 yard range. Handgun only. Booths are well protected.
Been there 3 times so far during am weekday hours. Only one of those times was another shooter present.

Re: APD violating CHL law?
Austin is a blue berry in a bowl of tomato soup.. You won't get anything for complaining other than making enemies in high places Best to forget it and go on The Austin City Council and the Austin Police are faithful followers of Mike Bloomberg Be thankful the state legislature can severely limit t...

Re: What's the deal with hospitals and GC §411.204.(b)
I believe Srothstein has the correct answer as to why (b) is in the law, and poppo interprets it the way I think makes the most sense...hospitals post the text but without the 5 inch tall 51%. Can I ignore it IF I ever run across it? I think so since it's out of date. But I suspect (like many issues...

What's the deal with hospitals and GC §411.204.(b)
I happened to be looking at 411.204 and noticed this: (b) A hospital licensed under Chapter 241, Health and Safety Code, or a nursing home licensed under Chapter 242, Health and Safety Code, shall prominently display at each entrance to the hospital or nursing home, as appropriate, a sign that compl...

costco no-gun policy
After reading this link in the thread on the Costco Las Vegas shooting http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=36107&start=840#p686270 I looked it up on the intrawebs and found this http://jpfo.org/alerts/alert20061031.htm . This seems to confirm their no-guns policy. My question i...

Re: Experience flying with gun.
If applicable to where your going, you could always consider taking a train. I have checked a firearm with Amtrak several times with no trouble at all. Plus, at present, you do not have to deal with TSA, Searches, body scanners, ect. Better yet, if it's a ___ hour drive or closer, just drive there ...

Re: Left gun in bathroom
I don't find it necessary to remove my holstered gun or just the gun when sitting down on a public or home toilet. As has been reported numerous times, you will forget it sooner or later. I use an IWB most of the time. While still standing, I lower my pants until the waistband is just below my knees...

Re: School Parking Lot?
A little late but here is my 2 cents. As someone who works for a school district I can tell you that the advice you got is 100%. Unload it and lock it up . Your fine! You’re retired so you don't have a grounds for termination clause to worry about. A lot of the districts now have those clauses when...

Re: Post Office Law Suit to Repeal Carry Rule
Interesting article on this in the USCCA magazine this month: https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/ccm-columns/its-just-the-law/post-office-law/ . I think the link will work even if you are not a USCCA member. If it doesn't work, the gist of the story is the Post Office has it's own rules and courts hav...
