California Non-REsident Concealed Handgun License

It may come to be but I am having a hard time finding information. Maybe a month ago I ran across a news article, post, etc. indicating that due to some court ruling California may be forced to issue non-resident concealed handgun permits or honor other states permits comparable to their own. I thou...

Re: Which is easier to Maintain, a Mini-14 or an AR15

A couple of things to consider. ARs are quicker to reload, and slightly more ergonomic, but dirty up quicker than a Mini. A failure to extract, resulting in a double feed, in a Mini is handled much like a pistol, but in an AR is more complicate to clear. ARs are generally more accurate at extended d...

Re: IDPA options in the Houston area

WHIDPA is actually West Houston Shooters Club now and they now hold matches at Peacemaker range which is only a mile or so from the old Impact Zone. They list their matches on Practiscore. I think only Wednesday matches at this time.

Re: Official DPS stats on LTC for 2023

I understood the premise behind "Constitutional Carry", but was not really a fan of it because I felt that if someone is going to carry a sidearm in public, I would prefer they understand the state's lethal force laws, deescalation tactics, and at least be able to hit what they shoot at. E...

Re: WTB S&W Shield Plus 10-Round Magazines

Thanks for the replies. Two mags I needed were picked by a friend at the Conroe Gun Show. I bought the Shield Plus to use in the IDPA BUG division and it will only fit in the BUG box with the 10-rounders. If I ever choose to carry it, the 10 round mag would serve as spare.

WTB S&W Shield Plus 10-Round Magazines

If anyone here has purchased a S&W Shield Plus, which comes with a 10-round and a 13-round magazine, and has no use for the 10-round magazine, I would be interested in purchasing it.

Red Dot (or green dot) pistol optics

Couple of questions and a couple of thoughts. I shoot IDPA with a local Houston Club and a couple of major matches each year - IDPA. I have noticed the Stock Service Pistol and Custom Defensive Pistol divisions shrinking while the Carry Optics division is growing - especially in at my local club wee...

Re: "We Dare Not Keep Silent": ATF Releases Anti-Gun Rule For Public Comment

I heard that an investigation has already started on BATF employees putting comments on the register encouraging and approving of the proposed changes. It seems an internal BATF memo or email was sent out encouraging BATF employees to do this as they are citizens also and are entitled to make their ...
