I have a close friend that manages security for one of the high-end Dept. stores at a local mall. In this case, the retailer is sovereign from the overall Mall. The store can enforce trespass violations within its boundries independent of the Mall and the opposite is also true. Mall security does not have rights within the individual Dept. store. They try to work together on individual cases, but for the most part the individual Dept store operates independently.
