Re: Non resident alien firearm purchase
Ok great, so I will still need my visa page, i94, and hunting licence with me ? But this is just for paperwork purposes and is not submitted for a NICS check ?

Re: Non resident alien firearm purchase
So just waiting for my licence before I buy, I am correct in thinking I now don’t have to do a background check ? What actually happens when you show ltc process wise ?. I’m thinking a Glock 19, it’s what I’m most familiar with going to add some after market items to it also. I’ve been told that the smith and Wesson sd9ve is a great firearm, but I’ve never fired one.

Re: Non resident alien firearm purchase
So I took my class August 25th, I had thought about applying straight away but was concerned about being declined so sat on it for a little while. Looks like my concern was misplaced worked out super fast

Re: Non resident alien firearm purchase
So I have some info for you guys, I applied for my ltc on Tuesday uploaded my documents chl 100, hunters license , i94, visa page. I had my fingerprints done Wednesday morning at like 10:30 and yesterday all my checks where green and my ltc is ready to be mailed
, I cannot believe how fast it has been processed. The only thing I can think of is that because of my immigration status my fingerprints are all over the fbi data base so a super quick match, and no criminal history, this must be an chl record time, literally 2 days. That’s crazy right, I feel bad that is faster than us citizens. God bless Texas and god bless the USA ![🇺🇸](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/s9e/emoji-assets-twemoji@11.2/dist/svgz/1f1fa-1f1f8.svgz)

Thanks priest, no I have had zero interaction with the police in the uk or USA never had a speeding ticket. I think they do an fbi and Interpol check for visa grant.

Thanks vol, I did read that one in detail. It was more the possible repercussions of a denial and my immigration status and if that would affect me.

Non resident alien firearm purchase
hello everyone my name is sam and this will be my first post on this great forum.
This is aimed more towards non resident aliens but i would love the imput of all knowledgable folks.
So since we have moved to texas we have has a couple of car break inns and also an attempted burglary. we live in a good area but for some reason we are being targeted by crime. long story short i think its about time to arm myself so i am able to protect my family. I am aware that by obtaining a hunting license and providing some other documents i am able to purchase a firearm, but my concern is due to our immigration status ( e2 visa issued in united kingdom) if i was denied for some reason, that this could affect our immigration status. i am obviously very clean in regards to criminal history and mental health as the visa we have would not have been granted. any help from non immigrants who have been through this process your imput would be much appreciated, and also any knowledgable posters also.
thank you guys
