Either you were sitting on a stash or you don't shoot much. I'm not a master blaster but I go through a few hundred rounds of .22 LR each week. Walmart at Kirkwood & Westheimer in Houston has a bunch of 40 Brazer Brass. $12.47
I also see lots of shotgun ammo everywhere. One walmart employee said the bird hunters didn't buy much this year.
