I think the days of the 2nd amendment are numbered. Call it pessimistic or cynical, but I think it is realistic. There are plenty of people that cry "come and take it" now, but how many people will actually stand by their word?
All the new gun purchases made during Obama's presidency tend to indicate that people will stand by their word. Its illogical to purchase firearms with the intention of turning them in later.
I have to disagree, while yes there have been dramatic increases in gun sales, I don't find it indicative to the number of folks who will truly stand up when 3 guys knock on yohr door demanding registration/confiscation. All I have to say is "from my cold dead hands."
If it comes to such a thing, the last way to go out is outnumbered, taken by surprise or in a situation where your family or other innocents are at risk.

A situation as outlined would be a war, and wars require tactics, strategy and discipline. One of the first tenets taught to leaders is that if at all possible, you choose the time and place for battle.

When three guys in SWAT gear (maybe five or ten) arrive, be pleasant, compliant and non-confrontational. Give them the junk you have on hand (be sure to have something) and give them no reason to act or have additional suspicion about you.

There'll be a time and place to act.
