The Republican (and some Democratic Representives) response to the stimulus package should give you an idea of what kind of reception that this bill will get if it gets out of committee. There are quite a few additional Democrats that won't have anything to do with this legislation.

If through arm twisting, intimidation and outright threats, they get this thing passed, it will be the single largest incentive for multiple state governments (and Governors) to defy the Federal Government on the grounds of trying to put a law into effect that violates the Second Amendment rights of its citizens.

For my part, if this were to be passed, I would have to do some really hard thinking about some very important concepts.

I have an idea where I come down, but it's easy to make big talk. I figure there's alot more folks that would be doing some serious thinking as well. If a fair number come to the same conclusion, it could be a very rough time for what used to be our country.
