I'm with you on the wish list vs. "to budget for" list. And a 12 gauge semi is at the top of that list. Specifically this Benelli but it's going to take some saving to get enough discretionary dollars. I'm not a bird hunter or skeet shooter, so I don't really need a longer barrel. If I decide I can't afford the Benelli later this year I'll look at something else. My backup plan may be a Remington Versamax, a 22 inch 8+1 model at about half the price of the Benelli.

Second is a 9mm pistol that's more suitable to competition than anything I have now. Not IPSC Open division type whizbang, but IDPA type competition. I have a 9MM XD Tactical, but it's the standard model and has a fairly mushy trigger and basic iron sights. I know I could get it tweaked, but I'd rather keep it factory and buy something else for the purpose. I've had teh M&P and G34 recommended to me, but I already have a number of mags for the 9mm XD and would like to see if I can find a competition ready XD that can use the same mags.

Maybe strangely, I'd like another mirror image of my XDm carry gun. You know, two is one and one is none. Since it's my main handgun, seems like a good idea to have two of them.

First on the not-budgeting-for but wish I had list would be a decent but not super high price rifle for long range target and maybe hunting. The one I keep coming back to is the Ruger Precision Rifle. Don't know which caliber I'd choose, but I wouldn't turn down either a 6.5 or .308. Just in case Santa Claus is listening.
