I'd never heard of Rock Island Auctions. I'd immediately thought they had some involvement or relationship with Armscor (which became that name after Squires Bingham Manufacturing was reorganized in 1980), which acquired Rock Island Armory (RIA) in 1985. Rock Island Armory actually started out as photo print shop in Manila in 1905.

But evidently not. Rock Island Auctions is only called than because they were founded in Rock Island, Illinois, in 1993. That seems kind of like starting a firearms-related business and calling it Winchester Real Armament because it's located in Winchester, New York. Even though there's an old and venerable company called Winchester Repeating Arms.
