The bold text tells you the forum (scheduled for the 4th) is off limits.

Scroll down and you can see that the forum is in the arena.

Ergo, the arena is off limits during the forum.

Now, was that hard?
Also posted here https://www.nraam.org/attend/firearms-policy/

They would if they could but they can't.

SoccerDad, I am not saying the NRA is powerless but let's look at the gravity of the situation. Both the VP and President are coming to speak in person to the NRA meeting. Why would the NRA shoot themselves in the foot politically (again) and turn them away? They wouldn't and they shouldn't.
I think the whole thing is stupid... Attending the largest gun convention in the country and then strip law abiding citizens so you can speak at the event. I'd rather they stay in the white house and speak from there and have them televise it on NRATV... At least that way they wouldn't look like such hypocrites. I understand the whole secret service laws and stuff but it doesn't make them look any less like hypocrites imo...
The press would spin things in that scenario as they would just say that even POTUS or VPOTUS didn't want to be around the guns. It really is a no-win scenario when dealing with the MSM. I still plan to go. I still plan to look around at all the vendor booths, possibly get some autographs from a few 2a celebrities. Perhaps even meet up with some forum members I have yet to meet, and hang out with some I've had breakfast with before.
Yea but in that situation would you rather the MSM say "POTUS and VP don't want to atend NRA becuase of guns" or "POTUS ban guns when speaking at NRA convention" i guess either scenario isn't favorable....
Well, "POTUS ban guns when speaking at NRA convention" is a straight up lie... And if the media is reporting outside of the area that is controlled by Secret Service, I bet some open carriers would walk through their shot just to prove it.
well yeah its a straight up lie, but that's how they'd portray it.

Remind me again what Trump has done for gun rights as POTUS, other than attack (currenty) legal accessories?

CARRYING ON A DART VEHICLE
Customers can still carry a handgun when riding DART. However, if someone is carrying openly, bus or rail operators may stop the vehicle and call for DART Police. The law allows a police officer to request the license holder's driver's license or government-issued identification along with the holder's handgun license.

Customers carrying concealed handguns should experience no changes unless the handgun becomes visible. If that happens the police may be called to investigate.
I feel like that should be against the law... They either need to post 30.07 signs on their buses/mention it on their website or not make a fuss about it at all instead of being like "if someone feels uncomfortable we'll call the cops on you for exercising your 2nd amendment right as a law abiding US citizen." Wouldn't logic dictate that if you get on a bus and dont go psycho on everyone, that theres a GOOD chance you're a law abiding citizen... Plus speaking of logic, if a bad guy planned on doing something bad i dont think he'd be open carrying to begin with. he'd wanna keep it concealed so nobody knew he had it...its policies like these that make no since to me. they defy logic. all for a "false sense of security" for people who are scared of guns.

Me personally, I won't be listening to him speak. I won't be going anywhere that I cant carry my firearm. It's essentially the nations largest get together for gun owners and they won't let law abiding legal gun owners carry guns because someone who's supposedly pro 2A thinks its too "dangerous"? thats liberal logic right there... one of the safest places I could think to be is in a room full of law abiding armed citizens... just my 2 cents
The VP has no say in this... Secret Service security detail comes with the job. In your scenario with bad guy and 200 holes, how would SS know who the bad guy was and who the good guys are with all those guns drawn? High probability of collateral damage too...
it was to prove my point... by the time a bad guy has time to do anything he'd be dead regardless of how many holes... and if the secret service is a bit trigger happy, then I'd say they need better training. and if someone does get in with a gun and decides to act like an idiot lets hope the secret service has darn good shot placement or else there will be "collateral damage" either way

Vice President will be speaking, so no guns allowed in the Arena. I'm assuming that's what they mean. I hope this doesn't mean no carry ANYWHERE. Was going to purchase a ticket, but since carry will be prohibited, guess I'll skip.

Due to the attendance of the Vice President of the United States, the U.S. Secret Service will be responsible for event security at the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum. As a result, firearms and firearm accessories, knives or weapons of any kind will be prohibited in the forum prior to and during his attendance. We will be posting a longer list of prohibited items in the near future.

If this is true and applies to LTC folks.... if I was a dem, I'd have a field day with this. Obviously even republicans and so called leaders don't trust the "good guys". I realize it's the VP, but still makes our whole argument look foolish. You may disagree...but in my opinion the very people that claim to protect the 2A should never host an event that requires disarming the good guys. Sad. No excuses for this...it makes us look stupid.
agree 100% I hope he speaks to an empty room...
