Don't let your emotions get you in trouble
I just had a couple of shotguns stolen from my vehile (they popped the lock as easily as one pops popcorn)at 12 high noon from a well known sports big box store, and grabed two gun cases with two 12 gauge O/U in them (one had Briley tubes - ouch for the wallet). They missed my three handguns as they...

Re: Deep cover & where others look
I wonder about everyone I see with their shirt tail untucked. Most of the time I can see nothing. I usually carry in my pocket (front left) with my shirt untucked (desantis pocket holster) in the summer, with shorts. The other day, eating at a restaurant with the wife, I noticed the top part of the ...

Gun in locked car at school if a teacher
Can a person, who legally possesses a Texas CHL, carry a pistol in the glove box of his/her locked car at a Church-School where they work (as a teacher). I know you can if you are visiting, but I believe if you work there they you are prohibited. Again, locked in the vehicle in the center console bo...

renewal - how long before I can order online
I relize this has probably been asked and answered numerous times, but a search shows too many posts to go through. So, I thought I would ask again. My first renewal comes up this year. I got my Pin number (had to email the state, but they were prompt in their reply, who would have thought to keep t...

Senate Bill 2099
Senate bill 2099. Has any one heard about this. I hope it is not true, or at least gets squashed, but with the current administration, I could believe they would try something like this. Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax form all guns that you have or own. It ma...

Re: Gander Mountian
At the two Gander Mountains I have been in, they ask that you check any firearm at the front, UNLESS YOU ARE A VALID CHL HOLDER, then continue on with your business. I carry at Gander Mountain all the time, and I know one of the firearms managers and he knows I carry. No one says a word. In fact, he...

Re: More training after CHL
Check on the internet under IDPA. IDPA stands for International Defensive Pistol Association. What we do is hold shooting matches where we try and simulate real life situations with card board targets. It is a ton of fun, very informative and instructional, and no one expects a new shooter to do wel...

Re: 2 CHL's Defend Business and Employees
I hope it was a target arrow, and not a hunting arrow. A broad tip arrow can do more damage than a .45. It cuts and turns. Animals bleed out. Sounds like the lady was a little deranged. She came to a gun fight with a Bow. American Indians learned that is not a smart thing to do. Shows us why it is i...

Re: Christmas Party Carry
If it is against company policy to carry at work, I would not carry at the company Christmas party (in the car is ok). Also, probably the quickest way to loose your CHL is to get stopped for suspision of a DUI with a gun in the car. Remember, the CHL license is most likely going to show up on the LE...

Re: Open Carry.Org Targets Texas
I am for open carry only for one reason. To have an absolute defense if someone were to see my concealed weapon, for any reason. The word intentional would not apply, period. Who really knows what the real intentions of a person are. I do not wish to leave it up to a jury. For now, I carry in my poc...

Carry rights in L aberge Du lac in St. Charles
This may have been asked and answered, but my search did not turn it up. I and the wife (both CHL holders) are going to St. Charles and checking in the Laberge Du LAc Hotel Casino. I know I can not carry in the Casino, but do not know about the situation with the hotel. If it is like the ones in Veg...

Re: BBQ at Shiloh with S.T.I. moved to 4-26-08!
I wish you had skipped the part about STI bringing guns to shoot. I may be sorely tempted and momma is getting tired of me needing more gun cabinets for more guns.
Oh well, I guess I will make it anyway.
I will see you on the 26th if not before.

Thanks Jim, however, I think house painting and fun are oxymoronic.
Now shooting and fun, that goes together nicely.

Re: concealed in a vehicle
Well, momma made it home and the bank account is not totally depleted. I can reach that pocket in the rear of the passenger's seat. Bit of a stretch, but makes more sense that the other options and is certainly concealed. Now, to find the correct holster (IE read cheap) to put Velcro on to stick it ...

Re: concealed in a vehicle
I do have a pocket on the rear of the passenger seat. But alas, I ran out to check out the idea, and momma has taken my truck to Home Depot (she is painting - oh don't get me started). The worst programs on TV are how to remodel your home. Every few months we are repainting again. Man, they may be j...
