The air over Miami and Fort Lauderdale are both SUA and MOA (A-291 Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta) for military activity not hazardous to aircraft (No ACM). Homestead AFB (Reserve Airbase) hosts Air Force, Army Aviation and occasional Navy. Seeing military aircraft of all sorts, in various configurations and maneuvering is not unusual. It has been that way since WWII.
