It was a bad day at work for me. I had read an email that morning before I left that one of her friends were going to "see you there" (the zoo) that day. My wife had pointed out an area of concern, which she had shown me, to the zoo people and was blown off (my daughter was volunteering there at the time). She said they are only still inthere because they want to be.Tactical_Texan_CHL wrote:Come again? Gorilla's got out? We have family in Flower Mound, and we're up there every couple of months. We go to the zoo's almost every time with our 2 year old. I'm sure she'd look tender and juicy to a loose big cat! I never heard about gorillas getting out! And I never noticed the tiger enclosures at either zoo. I guess I'll make sure I'm carrying from now on there too. On a side note, if you like the zoo's, try the Dallas World Aquarium. It's great!
Well this mean so-and-so who had been trouble in the tribe before was being taunted and decided it was time to come out and seek revenge. He injured 5 people in all. The worst of it was I was getting reports one of the victims was a 40ish redhead, and since he was in the area she frequents and I knew she would be in the middle of it, I almost lost my lunch.
He trapped a family and a mother and child in the aviary. He threw a boy that was in there with his family and broke a woman's arm and bit the head of her infant. Witnesses said his eyes bugged out and I still don't know how he faired. Another family was just outside of the aviary and the young son got out his multitool and his dad cut a slot in the aviary's fencing and evacuated the family. The zoo had a rifle but know one was on scene who could use it, no shoot team.
The DPD got there and went looking for the gorilla who had ducked into the trees. He eventually came crashing out of the woods dragging a stroller and hollering at the police who proceeded to drop him.
I had been calling my wife's cell phone and eventually she answered like nothing was wrong. I asked her where she was and she said at skating with the girls. I nearly lost my legs. It turned out that the email was in error and the day in question was the next day.
What I find interesting is in comparison between the SF tiger and our gorilla was the outcry about shooting him. I haven't heard that much from the tiger shooting and that from the such a liberal area. Maybe it is just our distance from the area.
Tactical Texan,
I live in Flower Mound. If yer up this way, drop me a note and we'll do Starbucks or something.
