I like this idea, for many reasons. But doesn't the law say that the volunteer has to be 'on duty' to carry past the sign?ninjabread wrote:Take a first aid class and then ignore the 30.06 signs.

Re: 30.06 on INSIDE doors
"Property" is generally defined to include not just the building(s) but also any surrounding parking lots, and other land. So a 30.07 sign posted at the door to a building may not actually be posted at the entrance to the property, as required by the statute. That said, it's a bit of a mo...

Re: chl holder robbed
This is a textbook case for why your SA should be in the yellow or low-orange if you go ANYWHERE at 11:44 PM. What's the point of carrying at all if you're not going to be aware of what's going on around you?

Edited to add.... I just found that thread from last May: http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=88291&p=1142160&hilit=PT111+G2#p1142160 Thanks for the link, Man. I had heard about the problems with the first gen, but not the gen 2. Either way I've had no ill experiences with...

Re: Now this is the reason why I carry
I'm in this same boat with my soon-to-be-wife. She's a teacher though, so I worry about her carrying in a CCW purse. I just know there would be that day she forgets she's carrying, and she'd carry right into the school.

Re: Cheap guns
Anyone have an opinion on the Taurus PT111 G2? It was so cheap it came with a free revolver. I'm not terribly impressed with the action, but it fires every time I pull the trigger. Just wondering if anyone else has any experience with it.

I am a retired postal employee and in the last few year I carried a cpap machine . I had been on vacation and carried a J-model in the papbag. Used the machine at home out of the bag and for got the pistol in the bag. I went to a school and put the machine in the bag packed clothes and went to a fe...

Re: "pump" action AR15 style shoots 'em up
Sounds like one of those Evil Black Rifle EBRs. Many in the media determine whether or not a gun is an "assault" rifle based on whether or not they think it looks like it could be an a war movie. Well spoke. I think it's a keyword thing. They have to sneak the term AR15 in there somewhere...

Thanks for the quick response, guys. That's comforting. It looks to me like it includes carrying on your person as well as in a carry-on though.

Can you please direct me to the source of that? I've not heard that, but it is refreshing. Thank you.crazy2medic wrote:... if we forget about a gun in our checked bag, we are given the opportunity to rectify the situation as opposed to being arrested.

Carry around the house while you wait. This will help decide a carry option as well as get you used to and comfortable with carrying so not as awkward the first time out I know it's been a couple of months since this thread was born, and thus the OP probably already has his plastic and has gotten c...

Re: In Houston: can someone convert a portion of their garage as a PRIVATE indoor shooting lane?
Sounds awesome, but I would think the cost/benefit ratio would make it not worth it. It seems like it would be far more fiscally feasible to join a shooting range's annual program than the cost of renovating a garage. Not to mention the resale of the home...
