The Wal-Mart in Lewisville on 3040 received some Federal .40 this morning, and had only 7 boxes left when I got there a little after 9am. I left 100 rounds for the next guy.

I have noticed that Wal-Mart's seem to receive ammo on either Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings for the past couple of months.

Most Wal-Marts have a limit of 6 boxes now.

Academy has the 9mm Blazer Aluminum and Monarch brass cased ammo on sale for $7.99 per box this week.

Dicks has a couple other pretty good deals today.

Remington UMC 9mm is $7.98 per box when you purchase 10 or more boxes.

Remington 00 Buck and Slugs are on sale for $3.98 per box, and you get a $6 mail in rebate for every 3 boxes you purchase (limit 9 boxes).

FYI, Dicks Sporting Goods had a coupon for ammo in their ad today for Buy One Get One for 50% off.

I ordered some 7.62 ammo from CTD this morning and used the promo code successfully.

The CCI was in last Sunday's ad and yesterday was supposed to be the last day at that price. That was part of last week's ad and was supposed to expire Saturday, August 23. Did you actually buy the ammo today (Sunday) or yesterday?

Academy has 9mm Blazer Aluminum on sale in today's ad for $7.49 per box with a limit of 10. That is the best price around and beats Natchez by $0.50 per box.

Unfortunately Saturday was the last day of the sale. I went in there today and it was back up to $11.99. The cheapest 9mm they have in there is Monarch at $7.99 for steel cased and $8.99 for brass.

FYI Sports Authority's ad in the paper today shows 15% off of ammo this week. Unfortunately their store in Lewisville does not sell ammunition any longer so I was not able to see how competitive this pricing is to other retailers.

This is not a huge sale, but pretty decent price on .223.

The Bullet Trap in Plano has PMC Bronze .223 FMJ on sale for $6.99 per box (20 rounds). Not sure if they had any case discounts as I only had the cash to pick up 100 rounds. The only other place I have seen this price is with Natchez on a sale they are currently running. Most other places I have seen it sells if for $8+ per box.


Update: I went back in on 5/12 to replenish what I shot last weekend and the labels on the boxes were still market the sale price. When the guy went to ring it up, it was showing $9.99 per box. He honored the price posted, but they probably took the tag off after I left. I should have gone ahead and asked him for another couple hundred rounds at $6.99 per box.

Update: I called them on 3/15 and they are sold out.


While searching the internet for info on an old gun I have I stumbled across a site that has some inexpensive .223 Silver Bear.

They have it listed at $105 plus $8 shipping for 500 rounds (22.6 cents per round). I do not know anything about this company nor have I spoken with them, and the contact info below was copied straight from their website.

500 rounds of 9mm is $74.99.

Bass Pro has 10% all ammo through the end of the month. This makes their 100 ct box of WWB .40 come down to $22.94. Just a buck higher than Wal-Mart was charging a couple weeks back.

It may be worthwhile for some of you to take a look.
