Re: Requirement to Present CHL @ Time Of ID Request by Officer

Well this is what gives LEO a black eye. One when I was an LEO there was no way in hell I was giving a firefighter, paramedic, doctor, or nurse a ticket. I always imagined me giving one a ticket then looking up one day after an accident or a shooting and seeing that person as the one working on me, and praying they had a short memory. Having said that, you did as the law requires. But allow me to give a piece of advice, it doesnt matter if you are carrying or not present the license and chl and state, I am or or I am not carrying. It puts it all out in the open right and you avoid this kind of stuff.
The officer was wrong, and I am a strong supporter of law enforcement and I back their right to disarm, however the law is the law. And it is specific on when you have to present your chl and the fact you did not present when you were not carrying should not have caused this commotion.

I always present both and state if I am carrying or not. I actualy get challenged more while I am working due to the nature of my job. Unfortuneatley my employer does not allow weapons on duty or any where on the property.
