Re: Way overdue range report on my Sig P229 .40 reverse two tone

Longhorn, congratulations on your sickness. Buying a Sig really doesn't put you on the road to recovery, it just feeds the sickness. Oh well, a man has to do what a man has to! We're all just a bunch of sick Sig puppies aren't we?

I've made a point of purchasing all my Sigs in Nitron Black, DA/SA, no rails, all standard sights and all with Houge finger groove grips. This way they all have the same manual of arms and I can work back and forth between any and all. But the real reason all four pistols appear to the eye to be the same, is for the confusion factor. My sweet little banker occasionally has me line all my pistols up just so she can determine if I've been a good boy or a bad boy. It's the only way she can do an accounting of the current inventory! My theory is if they all look alike adjustments in inventory can be made with the least amount of ... well, you know.

Re: Way overdue range report on my Sig P229 .40 reverse two tone

My 229 now is always in the 357sig configuration which is my preferred CC and SD choice.

The 239 is also 357sig and will actually fit rather well in my Mtac too. Well enough that I don't need a second holster. The 220 is my latest purchase in .45 which serves my base roots as I learned to shoot on a SA .45acp as a teenager and have always owned .45 in various wheelies and slab-sides over the years. I converted to the .357sig as my go2 round last year based upon my own study and usage and I love it. There is nothing wrong with the .40, but for me it's not a .45 and it doesn't sing to me like the 357sig does.

I'm not an elitist when it comes to one caliber over another as each of us has different perspectives, experiences and perceived needs that form our own personal decision when it comes to choice. The .357sig just flat works for me.

Good shooting.

Great report and congratulations on your new Sig.

I purchased my first Sig back in August a 229 /.40 also. I added a .357sig barrel and a MTAC holster too and I just love this rig. I've since caught a bit of the Sig disease and have lately added a 220, a 239, a 232 and a Sig 556 carbine. I'm constantly in the dog house now!
