Hey! 10 year waiting period?? Well, I won't be lying if I said that I'd be willing to give up my votes if each of my concessions means two or more fewer Democratic votes.RoyGBiv wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 7:30 amMaybe we need a waiting period, say 5 years, before an immigrant to Texas can vote in State or Local elections?stroo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 07, 2018 4:41 pm Republicans in Texas better wake up and figure out how to get Hispanic votes and suburban votes. In my area which historically has been strongly Republican, I now have a Democrat state senator and a Democrat state rep who doesn't even live in the district. And my Congressman, Marchant, just barely won.
Republicans need to wake up!

Kidding, of course. Kinda.

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?
As a relevant thought, I wonder what the makeup of Demonrats vs Republicans is for the folks who moved in from out of state in the past few years. Really. So far this decade over a million out of state people moved to Texas, many of which come from the deep blue depths of Kalifornistan. I am curious how they ended up swaying the votes in Texas. Anyone have any links to relevant stats?

No, TAM, you got it right. Robert was ahead of Rafael by a wide margin at the 66% mark, but that's because the Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio areas reported in pretty early. Now it's pretty much over for Robert. The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Tue Nov 06, 2018 10:02 pmIt was displayed on the FoxNews chiron. But, I could have possibly misread it. Or, maybe it was a typo that fox accidentally put up wrong.
Allred has a big lead against Sessions, but Abbott has pretty much wiped out Valdez.
So we got to keep Abbott, Cruz, and Burgess (at least for me in Dist. 26). I'm satisfied that I was able to do my part.

It looks like the only big blue area that is missing is Harris county. We'll see if the bigger blobs of red will make up for it.
