Re: COVID and the holidays

I had covid prior to Christmas, and my wife and I stayed separated as best possible in the house. Our daughter didn’t come in until right at the end of my quarantine, which ended Christmas Day.

Christmas Day we went to family gathering at my wife’s mom and dads. All of wife’s family was there, except for one nephew and his wife which were sill in isolation as they had been positive as well. Gathering was great (or so we thought). Unknown to everyone, my wife’s sister and family had gone to her husbands family gathering on Tuesday evening before Christmas and gotten exposed by someone who was apparently asymptomatic. They in turn had exposed everyone at the Christmas Day gathering, so had a total of about 20 new cases of covid. Everyone ended up with symptoms (except me, cause I already had it), and had to go into quarantine. :totap: luckily everyone’s symptoms were very minimal.

So, as much as I hate to say the government knows what they’re talking about, it is really easy to spread when you do gatherings this way. :eek6
