At 1000 yards the elevation of the pistol for 150' holdover is not very much. The farther out you are the less gun elevation is required to aim high.howdy wrote:Look at the elevation of his revolver. It is almost parallel with the ground and the ground appears to be rising. He said he had to elevate the gun to allow for 150' of drop. Also said the bullet had to come in from the top like a rocket. I don't doubt he made the shot but I think this particular video was staged.

Oh, yeah, not trying to play down Jerry's skills by any means, just an observation. He is an awesome shot and gun handler! I would almost give my weak shooting hand to have even part of his ability.Jumping Frog wrote:
Seeing as he said that it was a 150 foot holdover, I think it was pretty darn impressive to hit the steel on the second shot. Better than "not bad" in my book.Keith B wrote:He didn't hit the balloon with the shot, it burst due to the bullet splatter from the impact low left of the balloon. Still not bad for 1000 yds.

He didn't hit the balloon with the shot, it burst due to the bullet splatter from the impact low left of the balloon. Still not bad for 1000 yds.
