That is a generalized statement that covers way too much. It goes from using a drone to take out terrorist on American soil to 'they are going to kill Americans with it.' This is how these wild ideas get proagated and turn into 'OMG, their gonna wage war and kill us all with these drones.'VMI77 wrote:Well, they're not taking apart the Constitution and passing laws like the NDAA because they're not going to use them. I fail to see what "conspiracy theory" even has to do with this subject. There are drones. They're being used to kill people. They will eventually be used to kill Americans as I explain in another post. The notion that they can only be used in some kind of all out war on the general populace is simply false. That's NOT how they will be used. Using them indiscriminately like that would be counter-productive. However, unless you're way older than I am, you will live to see drones killing Americans on American soil --unless such action is made explicitly illegal.Keith B wrote:I love conspiracy therorists.....NOT!
Yeah, the current leadership could turn on us and try to declare war on the general populace of the United States. It would last about 2 seconds before the leaders who would have to carry out the orders to declared unlawful and potentially treasonous in itself, and those leaders would be in cuffs and lead away.
I'm the same kind of conspiracy theorist our Founders were. They didn't trust government. They wrote the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution to express this distrust and provide Americans with the means of resiting what they knew, from the study of history, would be government attempted tyranny at some time in the future. So, if predicting that the government will eventually use these tools against Americans on American soil makes me a "conspiracy theorist," then I guess anyone who believes the 2nd Amendment purpose to be legitimate is also a conspiracy theorist.
Let's get practical. Tactical warfare has advanced ten-fold in the past 5 years. Technology has driven the capability well above where we ever expected to be 10 years ago. While I can see them potentially some day using a drone to selectively target and eliminate a heavily armed Mexican drug cartel convoy that is illegally entering the U.S., or a real terrorist with a vehicle full of explosives, posting as 'it's only the first stop on their way to our total domination' reads and sounds to the general populace like radical paranoia crap.
If that is how you want to be perceived so be it, but we as a forum are NOT going to be painted that way.
