Re: Louisiana

Would think the liquor license covers the whole casino, but don't know. I would say if a person of authority tells you you can carry, then no one should hassle you about it then. :thumbs2:

When we first started going, I was told I could not store my gun in the hotel safe, so I went to the security entrance at the casino entrance and asked them what the policy was on CHL in the Casino. I was told politely that I should leave it in the holster unless I felt I really need it, and to not drink too much. He also asked me to make sure and spend a lot of money while I was in there. I have been pulled over on I-20 in Louisiana twice, and twice handed them my CHL and Drivers license along with insurance. I got a warning ticket the first time for a burned out rear plate light and a "have a nice day, please get your tail light fixed" from the very polite trooper. Don't understand where the issues seems to be coming from, as I have always been treated with respect by the troopers there.
There could be an issue with the fact the casino has a license to sell alcohol on premise. Any portion of the permitted area of an establishment that has been granted a Class A-General retail permit, as defined in Part II of Chapter 1 or Part II of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises. You can look up a business here http://atcpub.license.louisiana.gov/Loo ... ookup.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Casino's will more than likely have a Class A permit, so are not legal to carry in.

Re: Louisiana

A CHL does not show up on a license plate run. Additionally, if they ran a check through Louisiana's system on the name that the license plate came back to, it would not show CHL status. I believe the only remote way would be if they ran a check back by calling Texas DPS and requested the information. So, sounds like a fallacy to me.
