When she becomes a Michigan resident, she can send $25 to the Texas DPS and change to a Texas non-resident license with her Michigan address. However, Michigan does not honor non-resident licenses from other states. See http://handgunlaw.us/states/michigan.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Her license woudl still be valid for carry in states that honor a non-resident Texas CHL, but not Michigan.bruce816 wrote:I know this thread is older. My question is going the other way. My daughter has a Texas CHL and is moving to Michigan. I don't expect you all to know Michigan law, but when she moves to MI, she will no longer be a Texas "resident". Would her Texas CHL be automatically null and void or can we convert it to "non-resident"?
Michigan does honor the Texas CHL and obviously we have people in Texas that get non-resident licenses from other states.
I do have a question into a Michigan group for some other clarification points, but thought I'd throw it out to you guys too.
Thanks
