I know it's good to have the VCR (aka DVR) physically separate from the camera(s); I wonder how many people think to put the DVR in a physically secure location, like inside of a safe? You'd need a small access hole in the back of the safe for electricity and the camera feed(s).
Doing that would void the UL rating required for insurance unless it was something provided by the manufacturer and included in the rating test.
Interesting, why? Concerns about overheating?
Safes are UL Fire Rated for certain amounts of time and that would invalidate the fire rating by poking a hole in it.
