The House bill died on the floor calender as they ran out of time before getting to it. The Senate bill SB1164 passed yesterday and now has to go to the House. It will more than likely have to go through committee and then through Calendars to get set for the House floor. Time is short, so there is a question if it will make it through with enough time to get out on the floor.Wheelman wrote:I'm trying to understand where we are in the process at this point, but I think i'm lost. Has this been put on the calendar in the house or senate for a full vote yet?

Re: Is campus carry dead?
I didn't see it on the archived video, but watching the live session Sen. Wentworth was speaking afterward. I was bouncing back and forth, but thought he had stated there were modifications made, and Sen. Duncan stated they would leave it pending and vote tomorrow. I could be mistaken though as I don't see the State Affairs Committee scheduled for today.BrianSW99 wrote:I watched the afternoon session, but I didn't hear anything that indicated they would take a vote today. Did I just miss it somewhere? I don't see a meeting notice for today either. If they do take a vote on it, is there enough support in State Affairs to pass it out of committee?Keith B wrote:They have left the bill pending in committee and Sen. I am not sure about the number of Senators in the committee that are in favor. Maybe Charles can shed light on the balance of A or A+ Senators vs. others on the Committee.

I didn't catch all of Sen. Wentworth's modifications, but curious how badly it may have been butchered?

Re: Is campus carry dead?
You link is one step shy of what I posted. The only difference is my link is when you click on the 1st committee link. You will need Real Player to view the hearings.Greybeard wrote:Keith - Thanks for posting, but for me anyway, it's a bum link.
This http://www.senate.state.tx.us/bin/live.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is the closest I've been able to find just now - for what may start at 8:30 a.m.? The House hearing on Campus Carry lasted over 8 hours - and the schedule on this appears to indicate the Senate Committee must be done by 11:00 a.m. ... ?
