Actually, you need quite a bit of line between the radio and the G5RV for them to function properly. The twin-lead should be stretched out. There is not a lot of loss in coax on HF frequencies, so don't be worried about that part if you used decent RG-8 at least. How far is the run?

You're right Jim, it is really 'Best Regards'. I messed it up!

Kind of. I'm reading/studying the ARRL HAM Radio Licsense Manual at the moment, bought at Houston Amature Radio shop. I'll soon join NARS out of the Spring area (Northwest Amature Radio Society) and find someone willing to help and tutor a little.

By your profile, you show to be in The Woodlands. There is the Northwest Amateur Radio Society radio club in Spring, TX that would be close http://www.w5nc.net/. Give them a email and let them know you are interested. Usually someone will contact you and offer to help. There might even be another ham on here that is close to you that would be willing to 'elmer' you.
