I want to add this, you MIGHT be able to pass the standards in 46.02 if you disarmed, checked in, then went back to your vehicle and went directly to your room. Same going back out, you would have to go directly to your vehicle, then disarm and come back in to check out at the desk. Otherwise, you are not really directly in route to or from your temporary domicile.Keith B wrote:So, point to me a law that says this? 30.06 applies to the premises which includes guest rooms. If you pass that sign, you are in violation of 30.06, even if you could argue that the guest room is a premises under your control. And, there is no law that I am aware of that specifically gives an exemption to 30.06 if the gun is in your suitcase.MeMelYup wrote:You can have it in your room, you must bring it in inside your luggage. The sign just means you are not allowed to wonder around the hotel with licensed concealed carry. Evidently they do not care about unlicensed concealed carry.

Totally legal sign. There is no definition of what 'contrasting' is in the statutes. If you can see it, it is contrasting.kf5nd wrote:The thread never dies because Hilton never fixes their mistake. We have to keep reminding people to not use Hilton.
Sign below not legal (not contrasting letters), but it still makes me mad, and I don't want to be the test case either...

Re: Hilton Anti-CHL?
Legally, yes. However, there are some known instances where an invalid sign is being supported by the local PD (Grapevine Mills Mall for one) as valid for 30.06. Even though you should be able to beat this in court, they may still arrest you and charge you with a violation. As we say, 'You may beat the rap, but not the ride.'pedalman wrote:And is obviously null and void to CHL holders.
