Wife's speeding encounter
On Jan 15 the wife was on the way to her employment and was in the wrong lane so she sped up to change lanes safely. Wouldn't you know it, one of Houston's finest was right there to clock her speed. After the introduction she produced her CHL and DL. The officer was very courteous and wrote her a ci...

Re: ammo on sale
Carter's Country (Pasadena) has all caliber (380 only in aluminum). They seem a lot more expensive than Academy or Wally world, but they seem to have a lot of ammunition...probably because they are hiking the price :mad5 Yep, I've noticed that. But like you say, they have it! Geoelectro While you m...

Re: Preferred Daily carry Ammo
I have mags loaded with 230 Gr, Ranger XST, Power Ball and Hydra Shocks. I don't have an idea which one would perform best but all three cycle in my 1911's without issue.

Re: Trying to find Ruger LCP/Kel Tec P3AT in Houston?
I had an LCP when they first came out..... hurt like heck to shoot it... slide kept coming back and slicing the webbing between thumb and trigger finger..... go with the LCR.... much nicer As I sit here gripping my Elsie Pea, I can't for the life of me figure out how you were able to get slide bite...

Re: Wife shot Sig P239 and liked it. Help!
While I believe in giving my lovely anything she wants, this is more expensive than anything I shoot right now. Always purchase the very best that you can afford for your family members. I learned to let my pride suffer once the better half decided to obtain her CHL and start carrying. I don't want ...

Re: Bud's Gun Shop
I have had multiple transactions with Bud's and have been satisfied each time. I prefer to do business with my local dealers but at times the price differential on a particular weapon was too great to ignore.

Re: Trying to find Ruger LCP/Kel Tec P3AT in Houston?
Get in touch with Brian at Carter's Country in Stafford. He may not have the ammunition but will usually get an Elsie Pea for you within a day or two. Target ammo for the .380 is spotty at best at a few of the local Wally worlds but SD ammo such as Power Ball can be had on a regular basis at Collect...

Re: Positive First LEO contact with Schertz PD
Got stopped for the first time with my CHL today. Officer was nice enough to point out my inspection sticker was expired. :banghead: Anyway, handed him my licenses and insurance. He asked, "You don't have a weapon on you, do you?" That got me worried for a second. It sounded like he wasn'...

IWB tuckable holster for warmer weather business dress. Blackhawk serpa for cooler weather under a sports coat or suit coat. There are many options for full size 1911 carry. If you google search for concealed handgun holsters you could spend more than a day visiting all the sites. Pick your pistol o...

Get some snap caps. Then practice as much as you want. A-Zoom makes a great product. I believe that they are packed six to the pack.

Re: holster for business attire?
I use a Dakota Defender most days without a suit coat or jacket. I have had mine for a couple of years and it is just now begining to show some wear from the cocking serrations on my 1911. http://www.kdholsters.com/iwb-defend.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: SB730 Employer Parking Lot Bill Passes Senate
The amended bill also exempts school districts. What a slap in the face to educators. My better half, as a high school teacher, will continue to be denied her basic right of self protection on her daily commute. Or she could keep her pistol in her auto and risk dismissal due to a no firearms policy ...
