Status Updated to "Background Check: Under Review": 12/02/16KurtFTW wrote:For starters. I was planning on doing this nearly 3 years ago (on 02/22/2014 which is my birthday). I submitted the application and paid the fee and fully intended to get into a course and fingerprinted before the 12 months was up....didn't happen.
When I attempted to do a new application back in October of this year I was not able to because it still showed my old application to be on file.
I emailed the RSD to ask what I was doing wrong and why I could not submit a new application. I was told, and I'm paraphrasing, "Oh we're just still waiting on your fingerprints and signed CHL-100". This left me with the impression my old application was still valid after nearly 3 years on file. So I went and had my fingerprints taken and of course went through a conceal carry course and passed. I scanned in my CHL-100 and waited a day.
I remembered that the old application would have an old address and called to ask if my LTC or (God forbid) the letter requesting supporting documents would be sent to the address on the application or on my current valid Driver's License. The lady I spoke with told me, oh no, your application is way too old and you'll need to do a new one and pay the fee. Oh and those fingerprints you sent in are for the old application so you'll need to redo those as well.

CHL-100 Submitted: 11/07/16
New Application Submitted: 11/10/16
Fingerprints Submitted: 11/11/16
The status website has not updated whatsoever since informing me the application was submitted.
I have not received any letter in the mail asking for supplemental supporting documentation.
Emailing the RSD just resulted in a cookie cutter response about how it's important to wait because they are allowed 60 days for new applicants or up to 180 days after receipt of any other documents they require. No real update whatsoever on my application.
