I fully appreciate what you're saying, but I can't imagine any Texas instructor advising his CHL students that a portion of their handgun can legally/visibly be seen by the public when it's supposed to be completely concealed, as in: Yes, it's O.K. if the butt of your handgun is visible...nah, I don't buy it.

Perhaps, there are instructors out there applying that level of incompetence, but I doubt it.

My guess is the 'outed' CHLer, if indeed he's actually in possession of a CHL, is simply a poor student or willful...

I neglected to mention: The bonehead should have been immensely grateful to be notified of his lack of concealment status.

I would bet any of us on this forum would be very appreciative of the discreet and kind notification - so much so we'd be thanking the man for taking the time, effort and shaking his hand.

From what I've read the man realizes his gun butt is visible and perhaps, with it's visibility, likes giving off the impression that he's one tough/dangerous hombre, or maybe he likes being potentially regarded as an LEO or is simply just hard headed (read obtuse) as his reaction to being advised of his un-concealment is dreadfully inappropriate. He should've reacted with chagrin, not argumentation and a public display of his handgun. What a bone head.

His instructor is in no way responsible.

If he persists that he can carry unconcealed he should have his CHL revoked.
