Re: Is there just no end to them?

I've a few hogs on my property.

I head shot a 70/80 lb. sow last year from my back porch with a .17 cal HMR 20 grain fmj. She dropped like a stone. Great eating.

Later, I had a 250 lb. or so boar in my front yard who wouldn't leave. I came out of the house vigorously clapping my hands, whistling and shouting. All he did was grunt, once and kept on eating whatever his came across. After he started munching on the landscape installed flowers (my wife's pride and joy) I had to dispatch him. Same shot. Same rifle. One shot. Down and out.

We didn't harvest him as there appeared to be something very wrong about his behavior and his hair was very patchy... He couldn't be persuaded to leave my yard no matter what I did prior to shooting him and had just spent the night in a neighbor's back yard. He couldn't be persuaded to leave his yard either. I found out this bit of info later.
