Re: Can an 18 year old legally have a handgun in his posession in Texas?
I had already checked to see if it was stolen and it shows it's clear, but it may be one of his parents guns and they don't know it's missing. My son knows very well how to handle a weapon and is very safe when with adults at the range, but I'm afraid that, like his driving, when he's with his frien...

Can an 18 year old legally have a handgun in his posession in Texas?
I was asleep and I heard the distinct sound of the slide of a pistol over and over coming from my 18 year old son's room. Thats kinda unsettling! He had brought a pistol into my house that a friend gave him to "sell" for him. Whatever. The kid that gave it to him is 17 apparently. I took i...

Re: "Waiting Room"
Reciprocal licensing. Texas acknowledges chl/ocw/Ltc ect. from other states. Many states (including Texas) issue to applicants from other states(as long as requirements are met). Some state qualifying criteria is less strenuous compared to others. I'm no instructor or LEO by any means, so if I'm wr...

Re: "Waiting Room"
Not sure what's going on with our justice system but I finally found out why it is taking over 100 days to even find out why I haven't received my license yet, even after 2 phone calls and 3 emails to the DPS. They said my fingerprints showed an arrest for bad checks in Dallas from 2007. So, I drov...

Re: "Waiting Room"
After 102 days since all info was submitted, I finally received an email back from them saying my application has been approved and your license is in the process of being mailed out. :anamatedbanana :anamatedbanana :anamatedbanana Although I am not all green on the site, maybe they just wanna take...

Re: "Waiting Room"
Well, I'm coming up on 90 days and It looks like everyone else is getting theirs around 3 weeks. I've called twice to see if there was a problem, and requested that someone contact me. They just unload the canned answer. I've emailed twice requesting the same and haven't heard a peep. I have no crim...

Re: "Waiting Room"
I don't think that the quick turnarounds are the exception anymore. My LTC class consisted of nine other people besides myself, one being my wife, who of coarse has changed addresses as much as me. Two of the men had been arrested when they were younger. I haven't even had a speeding ticket in 15 ye...

Re: Started the process for my wife
I'm not positive about this but I have a theory that the closer you can turn everything in, the faster you get your plastic in the mail. I did my application and fingerprints in January then waited on a lot of my friends to do the class so we could get a better group rate which unfortunately took 6 ...

Re: "Waiting Room"
I probably will at the 90 day mark. I waited until the 60 day mark to contact the DPS (standard email reply, "Statute allows 60 days blah blah") in spite of the fact the other 9 people I took the class with have had theirs for a month and a half now and it's already been over 60 days. If o...

Re: "Waiting Room"
Even though it's moving faster for the newer applicants, there are still those of us who are passed 60 days and I assume, on our way to 90 days or more. I guess they use our folders to stabilize their wobbly desk so they can process the new ones faster. ![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

Re: "Waiting Room"
Paperwork done 01/10/16 Fingerprints done 01/16/16 Then I waited on taking the class with a group from my church on 07/16/16 (should have just gone in January) My wife does everything the week of the class on 7/16 and got her license 2 weeks later, so I'll just have to hide behind her in the mean t...
