All I will say is that the crazy son of a gun (no pun intended) that broke in there was either lucky or smart. Why? Because as a lifelong customer and former employee, I can assure you he would not have made it 10 feet into the gun room before catching a chest full of lead.

Winter carry?

I know it's still good ways away, but I thought I'd ask you long-time CHLers what winter carry is like in comparison to summer carry (AKA: March-October). Do you switch to larger handguns that you may not be able to conceal during the hot months? Do you carry a BUG or extra mags (if you don't alread...

My thought is if someone is demanding my money then that is enough to use lethal force. I'm not trying to be Rambo or anything, but someone that is demanding you wallet is most likely armed and dangerous. I've never robbed anyone, but if I did, I would be armed and dangerous. They deserve to be sho...

Re: Sandwiched , road rager in front

Let say u are driving and for some reason u go slow just below speed limit. Why would you be driving below the speed limit? Far too many roads are lacking speed minimum signs, IMHO. Driving too slow is often just as dangerous as driving too fast. Then suddenly u hear a honking and looking at the ba...

Just walking in there made me sad. I missed McBride's and Sportsman's Fines quite deeply.

Since everyone loves talking about non-compliant signs...

Just thought I'd see what any of you thought about a sign my buddy and I saw outside of "Guns-R-Us" in Waco. A sign outside the door read as follows: DO NOT ENTER IF: 1. YOU ARE A CONVICTED FELON. 2. YOU ARE CARRYING A LOADED FIREARM. 3. YOU ARE NOT AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD. This place has to...

Re: Is your wallet really THAT valuable?

If some punk wanted my wallet and did not present a threat to me, If someone wanted something of yours, and presented no threat to you in order to get it, why would you give it to them? Perhaps I left my initial comments too open ended. I would not give them my wallet if they presented no threat, b...

Is your wallet really THAT valuable?

Let me clarify first that I have no doubt (zero, zip, nada) that should my life be on the line, I could confidently draw my weapon and use it. However, I have been thinking a lot lately on the scenario of being mugged. If some punk wanted my wallet and did not present a threat to me, I just cannot f...

Having a CHL means that you are the type of person that obeys laws. The fact that you have a CHL proves that you obey MOST laws. Speeding is against the law! True, it does not affect the status of your CHL (unless you are going fast enough over to get arrested for it), but none the less, it is agai...

My XD9 Service will dig into my hip when I sit down. The subcompact is so much easier to carry. While this is certainly true, that's kind of like saying it is easier to lift a 50lb TV than a 100lb TV. Point being, don't worry if the service (4") is what you already own. I carry my XD40 (also a...

I got mine for secondary carry, if that's the right term to use, meaning I carry it when the weather/attire/setting or all of those things combined does not permit me to confidently or comfortably conceal my big honkin' XD40 (4"). My internship this summer put me in a tight spot as I was requir...
