Its not the service part that some men are not comfortable about. Its a mostly man thing with using coupons in general. I know some women that don't like using them either.
I don't mind using them, discounts, for a decent savings. But don't like when the wife makes me pull out the ID for a .80 cent savings.

Funny though, when buying online I always look for a code for at least free shipping.

Got a $80 discount on a dishwasher at Lowes.

Just depends on the cashier, I've been denied a veterans discount at some Lowes and granted at others. I think you got lucky. If you go back, try to get the same cashier.
