As others mentioned I did purchase a gun a month prior to the application so unless they eff up I should be good to go. Right?

Would I been able to purchase a gun otherwise? Doesn't make sense that I could have a gun but not a license, right?

Agreed, and same here... I bought one last week with no issues. When I asked about that very thing, I was told:

"If you passed a NICS check, I can't imagine DPS would find something in TCIC that wouldn't be in NICS."

Might not be the status change that I'm supposed to see but the website change slightly. Where before I had 1 "License Application Status" paragraph now I have 2 "License Application Status" paragraphs...both with different wording. No green/red bars yet, but any change is good!
