What a shame that this forum seems to be sinking to low level of respect for others opinions and thoughts. The Annoyed Man wrote:It seems to me that this thread has run its course. The naysayers - who neither understood the spirit in which the thread was first posted, nor did they understand the nature of the topic being discussed - aren’t going to allow the people who are already invested and interested to have a friendly discussion about it without ridiculing them, or as happened to me, impugning their character and motives with a scurrilous and vile accusation. I suppose that debby-downers are necessary to all ecosystems, but at this point, I think a moderator ought to lock the thread. This is my last post in it. I hope that those who wrecked it for the rest of us with their negativity and ridicule don’t object when I return the favor in their own threads down the road, as such an objection might constitute a level of hypocrisy that would definitely need to be pointed out in those threads. Maybe then they might lose some of their social tone-deafness and rediscover a respect for the dignity of others.
So with that, I’m going to contact the moderator for this forum and ask that the thread be locked.

Re: Crypto-currencies
I don’t understand your need to continue to disparage the financial/investment decisions made by people who see things different than you. It’s not your money and no one here is going to want you to save them if their investment goes bad.1911 Raptor wrote:Another off the crypto currency. The Annoyed Man wrote:Exactly. Re: Crypto-currencies
What are the governments of China and South Korea worried about? Perhaps the loss of government monopoly on the exchange, control and profiteering of currency?

Re: Crypto-currencies
I admit to being skeptical about the crypto-currency investment but it’s because I know nothing about how it works and how to go about making money from it. I actually haven’t followed this post since my smart aleck remark back in May after the post started. Today I read the entire thread from the beginning and am intrigued by the possibilities.AndyC wrote:Yep. It's like trying to have a conversation about AK47s and all I'm hearing is how crap it is and can't possibly be a good rifle. The Annoyed Man wrote:I suspect that Andy is just disappointed in the direction the conversation took, that it is being dominated by discussion of the legitimacy of crypto trading, rather than a discussion about techniques and other ideas for those who ARE interested. I’m inclined to agree.
Well, I should clarify that I got TAM introduced to crypto a few weeks ago and it's been gratifying see someone "get it" (the gains he has mentioned are all his own work, btw - I simply showed him the mechanics) - and he's seen my own (astonishing, if I may say so myself) gains.
I would like to think that the content of our respective characters are well-known here and would count for something, but I guess not, so, to paraphrase someone famous: "Y'all do what you like; I'm going to Texas".
I'm done.
Guess I’ll have to find out more elsewhere since the people who know about it have been given so much grief for their interest and activity that they don’t wish to discuss further here.
I wish we could get back to showing more respect towards one another’s diverse viewpoints and ideals.
